The President of Velatia highlighted Velatia’s commitment to innovation and the long term during the conference on “The Age of Complexity”, organised by Deusto Business Alumni
On 16 June, Velatia President Javier Ormazabal gave a talk entitled “The Age of Complexity” during a conference organised by Deusto Business Alumni at the Euskalduna Conference Centre. Javier Ormazabal spoke about how a family business like Velatia is coping with the effects of the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of current scenarios; as well as how to deal with these unstable circumstances in such a way as to move business activity in the right direction and so prepare for a successful future. Javier Ormazabal dared to speak of a future marked by a courageous entrepreneurial attitude, which he underlined by saying that “courage is a driver of innovation in Velatia”.
Under the premise that “the more complexity the more opportunities”, the President of Velatia highlighted the enormous importance of industry for our economic and social fabric, pointing out that “we have to build a better future and invest in both energy transition and digital transformation”, two sectors in which, in Javier’s own words, “Velatia is a leader worldwide”.
The event got under way with a presentation by Agustín Garmendia, President of Deusto Business Alumni, and an introduction by Pablo Sanz, Managing Partner of Deloitte Zona Norte. Following the talk delivered by the President of Velatia, the conference continued with a panel discussion moderated by Cristina Aragón, Director of the Chair in Family Business at the University of Deusto.
