The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was held in Paris during November 30th to December 12th 2015, which later announced the targets for the greenhouse gas emissions by aiming to control the climate change within the 2 oC trajectory.
The wind energy has been strategically applied in many countries as one of the most effective ways to allow a more sustainable energy system. By the end of 2015, the global accumulated wind power installation has reached 430 GW, with 63 GW being newly installed during 2015. The global forecast in wind of new installation from 2016 to 2020 is expected to be around 55 GW each year (Source: GWEC).
2015 has been a successful year for global wind energy sector, which also was a remarkable year for Ormazabal. We have supplied medium voltage solutions to over 3 GW newly installed wind power, which adds our record up to a total 23 GW worldwide since 1995, accounting for a 5% global market share.
With its 20 years consolidated experience in wind energy projects, accounting more than 1000 wind farms and over 23 GW installed wind power worldwide, Ormazabal attends to the needs of each customer through a close collaboration supported by permanent innovation with an efficient use of its own technology and a solid industrial foundation.
