Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has announced an agreement operation with the Belgian consultancy to develop smart grid projects
Qatar is preparing the future of his electical grid and is looking to the future through the smart grid eyes. This week, we´ve known that the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation, the main company for this kind of issues in the Asian country, and Elia Grid, an Belgian expert consulting, has signed a collaboration agreement to develop the Qatari smart grid projects.
This agreement deals topics like ecouraging the sharing of information, experiences and ideas to foster transmission development, network planning, enhacement ot better asset management. Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, the President of Kahramaa, and Markus Berger, the chief executive of Elia Grid International, were the signatories of an agreement that is on the sidelines of the ongoing “GCC Power 2016 Conference & Exhibition”, in Doha.
“Under the MoU we intend to exchange information and expertise to develop a relation between Kahramaa and Elia Grid International,” stated Al Kuwari at the signing ceremony in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada.
“Changing the KPIs for the distribution of power, developing smart grid projects and renewable energy concept are the key objectives of this collaboration,” he added.
