The company will begin powering customers, at Florida, in early 2020
Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), the third biggest electricity company of the United States, has announced during the past week four new solar power plants construction that will be able to produce energy for its customers during the first months of 2020.
These new power plants are part of the strategy of the company based in Florida, that has the aim of installing 30 million more solar panels by 2030 across more than 100 new solar sites across USA, as said Eric Silagy, FPL president and CEO.

- FPL Hibiscus Solar Energy Center, Palm Beach County
- FPL Echo River Solar Energy Center, Suwannee County
- FPL Southfork Solar Energy Center, Manatee County
Solar energy: a growing market in Florida
According to new statistics, the State of Florida is living a solar expansion that continues creating jobs. Florida ranked the second position in solary employment during 2018, just behind California, acording to a report that The Solar Foundation published recently. This positive trend will be reflected in an employment grow estimated in more than a 60 percent through 2026, compared to the growth of about 10 percent that the rest of the American states will experiment during that period.
